JAMMU, Aug 10: State secretary Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K and former Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ch. Vikram Randhawa, who is also the State convenor for Pradhan Mantri Gareeb Kalyan Ann Yojna (PMGKAY) has said that BJP is doing yeoman service amid ongoing pandemic that has rendered lakhs of people jobless following frequent lockdowns.
During his tour to district Basholi regarding review and awareness of PMGKAY, Randhawa interacted with party cadres and urged them to ensure proper implementation of the scheme which has been launched by the Central Government led by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi with an aim to ensure food for all.
He said that as millions of families across nation were unable to earn their livelihood following lockdown amid ongoing pandemic the Government decided to provide free ration to 80 crore families of the country under this scheme. He said it is now the duty of all the party workers to ensure that all those entitled to be beneficiaries of this scheme must be benefitted. He said that many of the schemes of the Government do not reach to the deserved ones and for this we have to make people aware so that they can avail the benefit of this scheme under which 278 lakh metric ton ration would be disbursed to these families upto Diwali.
“The aim of the party is to ensure food for all even if they are unable to earn during this period”, Randhawa said.
