BJP Displaced Unit for separate interviews of PM Package KP candidates

JAMMU, Mar 17: In a significant corner meeting of BJP Displaced Unit held under the chairmanship of its president T N Bhat, the Unit has appealed the Government for holding separate interviews for those Kashmiri Pandit candidates, who could not appear in the interviews held in the Valley due to inclement weather conditions.
Mr Bhat has invited those candidates to the office of the Unit at Sarwal for enlisting their names to take up the issue of rightful claimants with the concerned authorities to resolve the same.
Mr Bhat further said for strengthening the circle of membership of the party, BJP Kashmir Displaced Unit has opened counters AT Bohri and Durga Nagar to help the community in enrolling their names in the party list without much difficulty.
The meeting was organized by O N Razdan, Ashok Kumar Bhat, Papu Ji, Surinder Jogi, Vijay Kumar, MK Bhat, P N Bhat, Rinku Dhar and Jai Krishan Raina.
Meanwhile, a deputation of the candidates selected for these interviews while projecting their problems with Excelsior Correspondent, said that due to bad weather and closure of National Highway most of them were unable to reach their district headquarters, adding that the candidates belonging to poor families hardly afford to travel by air.
Expressing their feelings, some of the candidates said that it was their last chance to get an opportunity for employment and survive during hardships, adding that personal intervention by the Chief Minister, Mufti Mohd Sayeed would help them not to be left in the lurch.
They further said that the interviews for the candidates of Kulgam, Srinagar and Shopian districts were held on March 14, 16 and 17 respectively and they failed to turn up for the same due to heavy rains and snow in the State, adding that the flights were also cancelled leaving no option left for them.
Some said that the preponement of the interviews also served as a stumbling block for them.
The candidates while appealing the Government to fix a separate date for the interviews and hold the same preferably in Jammu said that they had already submitted an application to the chairperson JKSSB in this regard.
The deputation included Vinay Bhat, Rahul Wangoo, Rajesh Wangoo, Suprinder Kour, Mennakshi Handoo, Rahul Handoo, Kalpana, Diksha and Vishal.
