RAJOURI, Jan 28: A deputation of BJP leaders led by Wasim Kohli, Prabhari, ST Cell J&K, met with Minister of State, Sanjay Shamrao Dhotre and projected various demands and issues of the people Kalakote constituency.
The deputation comprising Mandal Pradhan, Surinder Sharma, Sarpanch Khadam, general secretary, Vinod Sharma, ST president, Rashid Gorsi, Sardari Lal, Sarpanch Seema Devi, Naib Sarpanch Mohd Aslam and others told the Minister that before 2014 there were no welfare works taken up by the public representatives and it was only under BJP’s initiative that Er Abdul Ghani Kohli took efforts for the construction of road which will connect Siot to Kalakote under BRO.
The members of the deputation demanded installation of telecom towers in far flung areas of Kalakote to bridge digital divide that cropped up due to lackadaisical approach of previous Governments. They said this will facilitate youngsters of the areas to assess online courses and get themselves aware about the various schemes by the Government, besides people can get enroll for Ayushman Bharat and achieve good health facilities.
Other demands projected by the deputation to the minister were immediate implementation of Conservation Act-1980 and Forests Right Act -2006 to rehabilitate nomads/forest dwellers, start of Akleviya Model School for the tribes in each district of J&K, enhancement of seasonal teachers teaching in ‘dhok’ who are getting a petty amount of Rs 4000 per year since 2005, covering poor people living on State land under PMAY and Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi schemes.
