JAMMU, July 1: In response to the severe water scarcity issues affecting the residents of Bantalab, Durga Nagar and surrounding areas, a delegation from the Kashmir displaced district, led by district president, Chand Ji Bhat, met with Chief Engineer of the Jal Shakti Department, Hamesh Manchanda.
The delegation included vice presidents, Sanjay Bhat and Chetan Wanchoo, general secretary, H.K. Razdan and treasurer, P.K. Bhat.
The delegation highlighted the chronic problem of erratic drinking water supply that has plagued these communities for years. Despite numerous complaints and appeals, the water supply remains unreliable, arriving only every six to seven days. This has caused significant disruptions to daily life, created unsanitary conditions, and posed serious health risks.
In response, Chief Engineer, Hamesh Manchanda assured the delegation that immediate steps would be taken to address the issue.
