JAMMU, Mar 8: To discuss the Party’s strategy for coming Panchayat poll and by elections to two Lok Sabha seats, BJP is convening a meeting of district presidents of the party across the State here tomorrow.
According to sources, the meeting will be chaired by Sat Sharma State president and senior office bearers of the party will also attend it.
Party sources said BJP will decide the strategy for two Lok Sabha seats of Anantnag and Srinagar in Kashmir valley where the by elections will be held in April. The district presidents from all ten districts from Valley and two district from Ladakh will also attend the meeting.
Sources said that BJP is seriously thinking to contest the elections on both of these Lok Sabha seats and for the same it will ascertain the views of district presidents.
The Party which has presently three Lok Sabha seats two from Jammu and one from Ladakh region besides one Rajya Sabha seat wants to make inroads in Kashmir valley too and consolidate its position there also, sources added.
The Party is also in upbeat mood with the response it received to its recently concluded Jan Samparak yatra in Jammu and Ladakh regions while in Kashmir Valley the yatra was taken under the name of Awami Rabita Muhim (mass contact programme) and it got a good response, there too, sources said.
The Party will also contest Panchayat poll in all three regions of the State and the main purpose of Jansamparak yatra which was for the first time taken by the Party on Panchayat level was to take its policies and programmes up to grass root level, sources said.
