LUDHIANA, June 11: Senior BJP leader and former J&K Minister Bali Bhagat today expressed confidence that the Ludhiana West Assembly segment will vote overwhelmingly for change, accountability, and development in the June 19 bypoll.
He was speaking after a high-level strategy meeting held in the constituency.
Bhagat, who is among BJP’s national star campaigners for the by-election, said the party’s candidate Jeewan Gupta enjoys strong public support due to his clean image and deep grassroots connect.
He claimed voters are fed up with the misgovernance of AAP and the unfulfilled promises of Congress.
“The AAP Government in Punjab has failed on every front-from curbing drugs to creating jobs or ensuring women’s safety. Instead, Punjab has slipped deeper into debt and chaos,” Bhagat said.
He credited the Modi Government with a clear vision to transform Ludhiana into a global industrial hub but alleged the AAP regime deliberately blocked major central projects, stalling infrastructure growth and damaging youth aspirations.
Bhagat described Jeewan Gupta as a symbol of honest and progressive politics, saying, “Unlike the tainted candidates of Congress and AAP, Jeewan Gupta has earned people’s trust through his work and integrity.”
Calling the by-election a crucial opportunity for change, he urged voters to choose development over deception.
“This is Ludhiana’s chance to elect a leader who puts people above political compulsions,” he said.
The coordination meeting was attended by senior BJP leaders including National Secretary Narinder Singh Raina, General Secretary Organisation Punjab Srinivasulu, former State Presidents Avinash Rai Khanna, Ashwani Sharma, Shwet Malik, Manoranjan Kalia and ex-Minister Tikshan Sood.
Other prominent leaders present included Anil Sarin, Rakesh Rathore, Jagmohan Singh Raju, Subhash Sharma, Bikram Singh Cheema, Gurdev Sharma, and Rajneesh Dhiman.
