JAMMU, Feb 19: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta today remembered the Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his birth centenary and recalled his immense contribution to the nation and Jammu & Kashmir in particular.
Addressing a meeting of senior party leaders, Kavinder highlighted Vajpayee’s visionary leadership, which laid the foundation for a strong, self-reliant and progressive India.
He said, “Atal was not just a leader but a statesman who guided the country with his wisdom, eloquence, and unwavering commitment to national integrity. His policies on governance, economic reforms, and national security remain a benchmark for good governance.”
“The BJP is compiling historical accounts, speeches, and personal memories of Vajpayee’s interactions in Jammu & Kashmir to inspire the present and future generations. Atal had a deep emotional connect with J&K. His doctrine of ‘Insaniyat, Jamhuriyat and Kashmiriyat’ remains a guiding principle for peace and development in the region. The party is working on collecting anecdotes, photographs and documents that showcase his vision for J&K,” he said.
“His legacy is not just about politics but about nation-building. His speeches in Parliament and his decisions continue to inspire every Indian,” he added.
Kavinder called upon BJP workers to take Vajpayee’s message to every household and ensure that his ideals remain alive in public discourse.
“We must emulate his dedication and commitment to national service. His centenary year is an opportunity to reaffirm our resolve to work for a strong and united India,” he urged.
The meeting concluded with a pledge to uphold Vajpayee’s principles and continue working towards realizing his dream of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.’
