BJP committed for women empowerment through policy, leadership: Sat Sharma

JAMMU, Oct 27: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu & Kashmir president and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Sat Sharma today stated that the BJP represents “women empowerment in its truest sense,” not merely as a slogan but as a sustained mission through its policies, programs, and political representation.
Sat was addressing a meeting of the BJP Mahila Morcha, which was led by its president Neha Mahajan, here today.
Addressing the meeting, Sat emphasized that the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, passed in 2023, is a historic step ensuring one-third reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies, a testament to PM Narendra Modi’s vision of inclusive governance and equal opportunity.
He said, “Under the Modi Government, several flagship schemes have transformed the lives of women across the country and particularly in Jammu & Kashmir.”
Sat highlighted how the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana has provided free LPG connections to rural women, the Jal Jeevan Mission has eased the burden of water collection and the Swachh Bharat Mission has ensured dignity and safety through the construction of toilets.
Mahila Morcha, president Neha Mahajan expressed gratitude to the leadership and reaffirmed her commitment to “doing the best possible work for women empowerment, ensuring that every woman in J&K becomes self-reliant, confident and aware of her rights.”
Among others who were present during the meeting included Shailja Gupta, Urvashi Gupta, Neena Gupta, Prerna Nanda, Neeru Anand, Santosh Sharma, Poonam Gupta, Geetanjali Mahajan, Anita Gandotra, Chakshu Kapoor, Asha Sharma, Saroj Manhas, Aarti Koul, Sneh Lata, Anuradha Sharma, Malti Sharma and Krishan Priya.
