JAMMU, Apr 11: Glowing tribute were paid to Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, a crusader of social justice and trailblazer in the realm of education on his 200th birth anniversary today.
The BJP State SC Morcha Jammu and Kashmir celebrated the birth anniversary of illustrious Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, a beacon of wisdom,. The event, was held at the party Headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, here.
In a poignant tribute, Morcha president Dharminder Kumar highlighted Mahatma Phule’s unwavering commitment to the cause of the marginalized. “He was a true pioneer who dared to challenge the status quo and champion the rights of the downtrodden,” Kumar said adding, “His visionary leadership and unshakeable conviction continue to inspire us to strive for a more just and equitable society.”
The chief guest of Birth Commemorative Function Ashok Koul , general secretary (Org) BJP, praised Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s initiatives and vision, especially in relation to Mahatma Jyotiba Phule’s legacy. PM Modi has been vocal about Phule’s contributions to social reform, education, and women’s rights, emphasizing his commitment to empowering marginalized communities. Koul further mentioned to gathering that in his tribute to Mahatma Phule on his 200th birth anniversary, PM Modi highlighted Phule’s pioneering work in championing women’s education and social equality. Modi stated that Phule’s principles inspire the Government’s focus on prioritizing the backward and poor, aiming for transformative change.
Notable figures present included general secretary BJP, Sanjita Dogra, BJP State Kissan Morcha, president Rakesh Pant, State BJP Mahila Morcha president Neha Mahajan, Jeet Angral, State BJP SC Morcha Seh Prabhari, Jagdish Bhagat, vice president, Raj Kumar Bhagat, general secretary, Mohinder Bhagat, office secretary, Hans Raj Loria, spokesperson, G R Bhagat, social media secretary, Rakesh Dev, and additional social media secretary, Lokesh Bhagat.

Shri Guru Ravi Dass Sabha Bahu Fort Jammu celebrated birth anniversary of Mahatma
Jyotirao Phule in the premises of Gurudwara Shri Guru Ravi Dass Ji Maharaj Bahu Fort Jammu under the chairmanship of Dr Vijay Shivgotra.
R A Inqlavi also addressed the gathering and said that Phule’s work inspired Dr B R Ambedkar, the first Law Minister of India and father of the Indians Constitution. Dr B R Ambedkar had acknowledged Phule as one of three Guru’s/ masters, he added.
F C Satia State President of All India Backward Classes Federation said that Jyotiba Phule born into a Shudra family experienced firsthand the injustices of graded society. He is rightly remembered as a social reformer, educator fierce critic of caste and pioneer of women education. Phule’s life and thought can be understood as Constitutional Project.
Prof C L Shivgotra also threw light on the life and mission of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule. Tarsem Mulnivasi former CEO also addressed the gathering and said that a true Ambedkarite should follow the path shown by Lord Buddha.
Another functionwas held by Shree Vishwakarma Library New Plots here in which Balbir Ram Rattan BJP spokesperson, F C Satia , president AIBCF and K K Fotra, president Sain Samaj Sabha were special invitees. On the occasion portrait of Jyotirao was garlanded by dignitaries and Balwant Kataria vice chairman of Library distributed pamphlets on lie of Mahatma Phule.
Ramesh Angotra , convener of Library along with Balbir Ram Rattan and other dignitaries paid glowing tributes to mahatma Phule.
The BJP OBC Morcha, Udhampur, also commemorated the birth anniversary of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule at the party office, Battal Ballian.
The programme commenced with the address Arun Gupta, district president BJP Udhampur.
Addressing the gathering, Gopal Mahajan, general secretary BJP J&K and chief guest on the occasion, congratulated the participants for their dedication and commitment, noting that a large number of workers had gathered from all 22 Mandals of the district to take part in the programme.
Prominent speakers including Sunil Prajapati, Sham Lal, and Sagar Chand Verma highlighted the life, visionary work, and struggles of Mahatma Phule, emphasizing his immense contribution towards social reform, education, and upliftment of marginalized communities.
While speaking on the occasion, Sunil Prajapati appreciated the proposed caste-based census, stating that it would help ascertain the exact percentage of the OBC community.
On the occasion, around 15 new members joined the BJP OBC Morcha and were warmly welcomed by the leadership.
