BJP celebrates 6th anniversary of Article 370, 35 A abrogation across UT

BJP leaders and workers celebrate the sixth anniversary of the Centre's August 2019 decision to abrogate Article 370 and divide the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories, in Jammu.

JAMMU/SRINAGAR, Aug 5: The Jammu & Kashmir unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today marked the anniversary of the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A with widespread celebrations across all districts of the Union Territory.

From cities to border villages, BJP activists held public programmes, hoisted Tiranga, held Tiranga Yatras, and patriotic events to commemorate the historic decision taken on August 5, 2019, by the Narendra Modi-led Central Government.
J&K BJP president, Sat Sharma, while addressing a gathering in Akhnoor, said that the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A has brought Constitutional unity, equal rights, and dignity to every citizen of Jammu & Kashmir. This day reminds us of our collective achievement which led to the welfare of the neglected and the oppressed communities of Jammu and Kashmir.
Ashok Koul said that the historic step of nullifying Articles 370 and 35A has ushered in a new dawn of development and governance in J&K. BJP is reaching the last person in the queue, with benefits of welfare schemes now flowing uninterrupted, he said.
All the senior BJP leaders participated in different programmes organized across Jammu and Kashmir, reaffirming the party’s commitment to building a new J&K.
BJP leaders also participated in various programmes organized by various sections of society, across the region, which witnessed large participation from the public.
The day-long celebrations highlighted the growing unity, progress, and national integration of Jammu & Kashmir under the BJP’s leadership.
BJP secretary, Pawan Sharma, while addressing a party programme here today in connection with celebration of 6th anniversary of abrogation of Article 370 and 35 A said August 5 marks the real independence for the people of J&K as it was on this historic day in 2019 that the shackles of Article 370 and 35 A were removed paving the way for true integration, equality and development and dignity for all residents of the Union Territory.
In a spirited display of patriotism and national unity, senior BJP leader and DDC Member, Srinagar, Aijaz Hussain, led a massive Tiranga Rally from Panthachowk to the iconic Clock Tower at Lal Chowk Srinagar. Hundreds of enthusiastic supporters, including civil society members, youth, and party workers, participated with fervent energy, waving the National Flag and raising slogans in support of “One Nation, One Constitution, One Flag.”
The bike rally, a symbol of the new aspirations of a unified Jammu & Kashmir, culminated at Lal Chowk where a large gathering assembled to mark the historic abrogation of Article 370.
Addressing the rally, Aijaz Hussain said, “We are deeply thankful to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi , Home Minister, Amit Shah and all those who made this Constitutional transformation possible. Today is a historic day and every citizen must celebrate it with pride. Jammu & Kashmir now stands Constitutionally integrated with the rest of the nation, and every law that applies across India now applies here. Justice is reaching those long denied, and accountability is finally being welcomed.”
BJP, SC Morcha marked the 6th anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370 with great enthusiasm, at its headquarter in Trikuta Nagar, paying tribute to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s visionary leadership. Morcha president, Dharminder Kumar said that the bold decision has brought Jammu and Kashmir closer to the rest of India, ensuring a brighter future for its residents.
BJP vice president, Rekha Mahajan who was a special invitee, highlighted the transformative impact of the abrogation, noting that it has brought about a new era of progress, peace, and prosperity to the region.
Arun Sharma BJP State secretary said revoking Article 370 will be remembered as a defining moment that ended decades of uncertainty and paved way for peace, prosperity and equal right in the region. Prior to the abrogation J&K remained trapped in the vicious cycle of hartals, stone pelting and terrorism, he added.
