JAMMU, Dec 20: Rebuffing the allegation of former J&K Chief Minister and PDP president, Mehbooba Mufti that Delimitation Commission is working in J&K on BJP agenda, Balbir Ram Rattan, the spokesperson of the UT unit of the party, said that his party do not interfere in working of any such body and believes in giving free hand for impartial and fair outcomes and recommendations.
Balbir Ram Rattan made it clear that BJP has very clear agenda in J&K and that included abrogation of Article 370 for complete integration of the State with the rest of India. Our party agitated, made sacrifices and finally succeeded in fulfilling decades old promise made to the nation and the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Balbir further said that BJP always made public its agenda of granting citizenship rights to West Pakistan Refugees (WPRs) and this is known to all political parties, citizens and sections of the society. While Kashmir centric parties, including PDP, never uttered a single word for sufferings of the WPRs, the BJP worked to relieve them of the tag of ‘refugees’ and today lakhs of them are enjoying rights which are being availed by other citizens of India.
Balbir Ram Rattan said that BJP agenda also include getting vacated the illegally occupied areas of J&K from Pakistan and added that the party stands by the unanimously passed resolution by the Parliament of India in 1994 in this regard.
The spokesperson said that peace and development too are in our agenda. Every effort is being made to end the terrorism and provide prestigious educational institutions, health infrastructure, quality connectivity through road, rail and air services.
Balbir expressed hope that the people will not get misled by such statement of PDP president and appreciate BJP for its clear road map for Jammu and Kashmir, which aims at taking the UT ahead at fast pace to ensure progress and prosperity.
