Sir,
Refer news item ‘major rebuff to Pak’ DE Aug 10.
Where is scope for exchanging sweets when bullets are showered from across the border. The sweets are tasty when there is heart to heart exchange between people; when their is sincerity and warmth in dealings. But no such bonhomie exists right now due to the killing of five indian jawans by Pak troopers. This incident has strained relations between the two countries especially the two armies.
During last some years, when there was peace at border, hearts got delighted to see two armies exchange sweets on occasion like Eid, Diwali or on independence days of the two countries. The thaw in relations had brought people to people together. Now the situation seems back to square one.
It is for the Pak army to mend relations, if it wants that sweets rather than bullets are to be exchanged in the future.
Yours etc…..
