KISHTWAR, Nov 18: Principal Secretary, School Education, Bishwajit Kumar Singh, who is also in charge Secretary for monitoring development works in Kishtwar, today reviewed progress on various ongoing development projects.
The meeting was attended by District Development Commissioner, Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma; Additional District Development Commissioner, Sham Lal; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kishori Lal Sharma; Joint Director Planning, Mohammad Iqbal; General Manager, District Industries Centre, Khalid Hussain Malik; Sub Divisional Magistrate, Chatroo (CEO KDA) Inderjeet Parihar; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Akhter Hussain Qazi; Assistant Commissioner Development, Kishore Singh Katoch besides Superintendent Engineers, district officers and Executive Engineers.
Principal Secretary, while assessing physical and financial status of development works, stressed upon the concerned executing agencies to complete these vital works in stipulated time.
While reviewing implementation of Jal Shakti Mission in the district, he directed PHE to put in extra efforts to provide tap water connection to all households in the district as envisioned under the mission by 2022.
Principal Secretary also reviewed the status of prestigious Naigad Water Supply Scheme and directed the concerned authorities to pace up the work for time bound completion. He directed the Chief Education Officer to furnish the list of schools to be merged on rational basis in his office within weeks’ time without any fail.
Principal Secretary also reviewed works taken up under 14 FC, MGNREGA, PMAY (Grameen and Urban), SBM, B2V and languishing projects.
Principal Secretary stressed on effective implementation of self employment schemes in the district besides focusing on enhancement of skills of youths to ensure them a dignified livelihood.
Later, Principal Secretary interacted with Chairperson DDC, Vice Chairperson DDC, BDCs and DDC Councillors. They apprised him of various issues pertaining to education and local infrastructure development.
He assured them that all their genuine demands will be redressed in a time bound manner.
Later, he visited block Chhatroo and inspected progress on ongoing civil works on GDC Chhatroo. He directed the DGM, JKPCC to expedite the pace of work so that the project is completed in stipulated time.
Enroute, he inspected fish farm at Mughalmaidan besides inaugurating KGBV Girls Hostel there.
