Bishnah attempt to murder case: six held with two country-made pistols

JAMMU, Dec 12: Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested six people in connection with an attempt to murder case within 48 hours of the registration of the FIR at Police Station Bishnah.
On December 9, 2024, one Paras Kumar (24), son of Pawan Kumar of Pure Chak, Phallain Mandal, Jammu, was chased by a group of people with whom he had an old enmity.
When the youth reached the Mehmood Nagar area on the Ring Road, he was stopped by the accused, who fired gunshots at him, with an intention to kill him.
Later, the victim, who is also a history-sheeter, was thrown off the bridge by the accused persons from a height of around 50–60 feet. After committing the crime, the accused fled.
Thereafter, locals shifted the victim to SDH Bishnah, where, after preliminary treatment, he was taken to Government Medical College Jammu.
The doctors at Government Medical College Jammu further referred the victim to an Amritsar hospital for advanced treatment.
Post-registration of the FIR number 207/2024 under sections 109, 115(2) BNS, and 4/25 Arms Act at Police Station Bishnah, a team of police officers, led by SHO Bishnah Inspector Sushil Choudhary, under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Nikhil Gogna and SP Headquarters IH Rather, conducted multiple raids and arrested six suspects from the Thandi Khui area today.
They were identified as Happy Choudhary alias Gugli of Makwal, Raj Kumar alias Babbu of Satwari, Raghuvir Singh Choudhary of Khandwal, Shivam Choudhary of Satwari, Ravi Singh of Chattha, and Arjun Choudhary of Phallain Mandal.
During interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the crime, and on their disclosure, two country-made pistols (desi katta) and a Swift car used in the commission of the crime were seized from their possession.
According to SDPO RS Pura, Nikhil Gogna, one weapon was recovered from Happy Choudhary and other from Raj Kumar. Both are history-sheeters with several FIRs lodged against them in different Police Stations of Jammu district, said the police officers.
Police are further investigating the case to gather more information and determine the motive behind the attack.
