JAMMU, July 29: A religious function was performed at Mata Chintpurni Ji Temple at Circular road here on the occasion of birth anniversary of godess Chintpurni today.
A large number of devotees drawn from different parts of Jammu participated in the function. On the occasion a Maha Yagya was also performed and devotees also participated in Bhajan Kirtan. This was followed by bhandara (Prashad).
The birthday of Godess was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety as per tradition said Sanjay Rakhwal a devotee of the Mata. He said the 200 year old temple of Mata has been founded by Mahraja Ghulabh Singh a great warrior and the founder of Dogra rule in J&K.
