JAMMU, Mar 9: A biopic documentary film was shown on Padma Shri Pran Kishore Kaul, which was produced by Sahitya Akademi, Ministry of Culture Government of India, New Delhi, written by Ashok Jailkhani (ex ADG Doordarshan) and directed by well-known filmmaker Sudesh Verma.
Many eminent personalities, including Pran Kishore and famous personalities from Indian cinema,TV and radio, were present during screening of the documentary at Kuwar Viyogi Auditorium Dogri Sanstha Jammu, here today,
This film is made on the biography of Padma Shri Pran Kishore, a renowned broadcaster, writer and director . The film serves as an homage not just to Pran Kishore but also to countless writers and eminent artists who have contributed and struggled in their field.
On this occasion, Director of the film Sudesh K Verma said, “By sharing the journey of Pran, I hope to shed light on the struggles of artists in our region and beyond.” He hoped this documentary would serve as a source of inspiration, reflection, and, above all, a celebration of Pran Kishore’s enduring legacy. “Let us carry his light forward as we continue to tell our stories, for they shape who we are and how we connect with one another,” he added.
Nitish Rajoura, Director Information, DIPR, UT of Jammu and Kashmir, was chief guest on the occasion while Padma Shri, Dr S P Verma from Gandhi Global Family Jammu and Kashmir was the guest of honour. Ayash Arif, Behari Kak, Ravinder Koul, ex Director DD Jammu R S Raina, Chander Mohan Sharma, Suraj Raina, K D Koul, D K Kohli, Rajeshwar Singh Raju, Rajesh Khajuria. Dr Arvind Aman Singh, Janak Khajuria. Hari Madan Rangeela, Krishan Langoo, Suman Pandita, Seema Kamal, Kusum Dhar, Ajit Singh, Kiran Verma, Brij Bhushan Verma, Sarika Verma Makhan Lal Saraf, Dr Kamal, Ashok Jailkhani, Ashok Kalu, J K Raina, Ved Verma, Vivak Chouhan, Satish Sharma and others were present on the occasion, Sapna Soni and Ravinder Koul anchored the program.
