JAMMU, Feb 26: At BioAsia 2025, Dr Sangita Reddy, Joint Managing Director of Apollo Hospitals, underscored the transformative impact of digital health initiatives like the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) and eSanjeevani Telemedicine in bridging healthcare gaps.
Speaking at a panel on Integrated Healthcare and Patient Outcomes, she highlighted how the pandemic accelerated digital adoption by over 300%, reinforcing the need for integrated models that ensure continuity of care and early interventions.
Dr Reddy emphasized that while technology enhances clinical excellence, it must not replace medical expertise. She detailed Apollo Hospitals’ strategic partnership with Microsoft, aimed at leveraging AI-driven tools for improved diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient monitoring. This collaboration focuses on disease progression analysis, genomics research, and AI-driven decision-making, with AI copilots designed to assist clinicians, patients, nurses, and hospital operations.
Addressing affordability, she stressed the role of Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY), micro-insurance models, and healthcare lending in reducing financial barriers, especially in Tier-2 cities and underserved communities. Dr Reddy concluded that the future of healthcare lies in making advanced treatments, both accessible and preventive, ensuring that cutting-edge innovations help mitigate disease burdens before they escalate into crisis.
