JAMMU, Apr 9: Ex-MLA Bimla Luthra today demanded the Government to immediately provide adequate compensation to rain hit farmers.
Interacting with the people at villages Nandpura and Miran Sahib in RS Pura, Luthra expressed solidarity with the farming community and hoped that the concerned authorities will appreciate the urgency of the matter and come to rescue of the farmers.
She said the rains have caused immense damages to crops and put the farmers in a precarious situation.
She also sought restoration of various works especially the damaged road network due to rains especially in far-off and remote areas.
They also urged the authorities to draw up exigency plans to meet such exigencies in the future.
