JAMMU, July 29: BJP Jammu and Kashmir general secretary and former Deputy Mayor of Jammu, Baldev Singh Billawaria along with Marh Assembly MLA, Surinder Kumar Bhagat, inaugurated the construction of a new culvert in Ward 75, Sangrampur.
The development work, carried out under the supervision of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), marks a significant milestone in addressing the long-pending infrastructure needs of the local community.
Speaking on the occasion, Billawaria expressed his satisfaction at fulfilling a crucial demand of the residents. “It gives me great pride to inaugurate this culvert alongside MLA Surinder Kumar Bhagat, a project I had envisioned. Throughout my Deputy Mayor tenure, I have strived to ensure development reaches every corner of Jammu city so that people can benefit directly at their doorstep,” he said.
Billawaria emphasized that the culvert’s completion will alleviate traffic problems in the area and improve the quality of life for local residents. He also highlighted the ongoing commitment of the Modi-led Central Government to regional development and public welfare, promising accelerated efforts to provide modern facilities throughout Jammu and Kashmir. MLA Surinder Kumar Bhagat assured the community that the ongoing development work in the ward would be expedited and additional projects would soon be completed. “This culvert has been constructed with the safety and convenience of the area’s people in mind. Our goal is to strengthen the basic infrastructure and enhance daily living standards, we remain dedicated to advancing such initiatives,” Bhagat stated.
He added that the new culvert would ease movement within Sangrampur, saving resident’s both time and effort. The MLA also announced plans to launch further schemes related to roads, education, and sanitation in the coming months to uplift the overall living conditions.
Social worker Rinku Chouhan expressed gratitude towards Baldev Singh Billawaria and MLA Surinder Kumar Bhagat for addressing the long-standing demands of the community.
Mandal president, Sham Sunder, Anjali Chouhan, Gopal Sharma, Bhushan Sharma and Ravi Sharma were also present.
