BASOHLI, Nov 10: To review ongoing party programmes and prepare for the upcoming local bodies and panchayat elections, a meeting was held here today.
The meeting was chaired by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu and Kashmir General Secretary and former Deputy Mayor of Jammu, Baldev Singh Billawaria.
Addressing the gathering, Billawaria said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is fast moving toward self-reliance through the “Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan,” which focuses on promoting local industries, startups, agriculture and innovation.
He elaborated on the ongoing “Sardar Patel @150” and “Vande Mataram @150” campaigns, aimed at spreading the message of national unity and reviving the spirit of patriotism among citizens.
“Vande Mataram is not merely a song but the soul of the nation,” he said, urging youth to connect with India’s cultural heritage and contribute to nation-building.
Calling BJP an ideology-driven organization, Billawaria said its greatest strength lies in its disciplined and dedicated cadre.
He urged workers to operate in mission mode and convert every polling booth into a “Vijay Booth” by ensuring that the party’s policies and welfare schemes reach every household.
Criticizing former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Billawaria accused his government of betraying the people who elected him.
He also emphasized the need for early municipal and panchayat elections to strengthen democracy and empower citizens at the grassroots level.
Senior party leaders also presented organizational reports and shared valuable suggestions for the party’s future strategy.
Among others who attended the meeting included BJP Pahari district president Gopal Kishan, DDC Chairman Col. Mahan Singh, MLA Basohli Darshan Singh, BJP Pahari District In-charge Amar Singh, along with senior office bearers, mandal and booth presidents, morcha heads and a large number of party workers.
