RAJOURI, May 6: A biker and a JCB driver were killed in two separate road accidents in Rajouri district today.
Official sources said that in a fatal road accident involving a Scorpio vehicle and a motorcycle resulted into the death of a youth. The bike rider was hit by a speeding Scorpio in Army area Sunderbani on Jammu- Poonch highway.
The mishap took place at around 3 PM when the youth namely- Rahil Sharma (25 yrs), son of Ajit Kumar Sharma, resident of Malada Rasiot, tehsil Choki Chora was going from Sunderbani to his home. When he reached hardly one kilometer away from Sunderbani city, his bike collided with Scorpio vehicle number JK02AS 9876, coming from opposite direction. He died on the spot.
Station House Officer (SHO) Sunderbani Insp Rajiv Sharma immediately reached the spot and took the body in custody and seized both the vehicle. The body was shifted to Sunderbani hospital for postmortem. The police registered a case in this connection.
Meanwhile, a driver died when a JCB skidded off the road and turned turtle at Katarmal village in Manjakote sector of Rajouri district on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Asif, son of Mohammad Taj, resident of Thandi Kassi in Rajouri. The police has taken cognizance.
