JAMMU, July 16: Chief patron of the National Panthers Party (NPP) and former Legislator Prof Bhim Singh will contest from Kathua-Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat during forthcoming elections.
Addressing a press conference here this afternoon, State president of the party, Balwant Singh Mankotia, sitting MLA from Udhampur said that party in its working committee meeting held on Monday has decided to field Prof Bhim Singh from Udhampur-Doda seat in the forth coming elections. Mr Mankotia said that Prof Bhim Singh is the only person who has the capacity to represent the case of Jammu province which is being discriminated for the last over six decades.
Mr Mankotia further said that the name of Prof Bhim Singh for his candidature for this Lok Sabha has also been recommended by all the six district committees of the party, falling under Kathua-Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha constituency. It was also decided in the working committee meeting of the party that Panthers is ready to contest poll pre-alliance election with parties as well as local groups. The Panther Party has no hesitation in pre-poll alliance with any like-minded political or non-political groups.
The NPP leader alleged that in the present scenario when UPA-II has failed on all fronts, polls will be held in 2013 with UPA failing to complete its full term. He said the people have fed up with the present Government and will throw it out of power in the coming elections.
