Bhasin’s book of Dogri essays ‘Succhi Samhaal’ released

JAMMU, Jan 20: Considered as a noteworthy addition in contemporary Dogri literature, Narinder Bhasin’s book of Dogri essays ‘Succhi Samhaal’ was released by Dogri Sanstha at the K L Saigal Hall, here today.
Chhatarpal, President Dogri Sanstha, while welcoming the guests appreciated the literary contribution of Narinder Bhasin, the veteran Dogri News Reader, broadcaster, whose earlier travelogue titled Char Dishan—Char Dhaam had also won accolades.
It was followed by reading of critical paper on the book by Prof Veena Gupta, noted Dogri scholar. She, while introducing the book as a sensitive take on the fast changing landscape of Dogra customs and social traditions in last fifty years also praised Narinder Bhasin’s deep insight into Dogra social fabric and artistic quality of his lucid writing technique.
Narinder Bhasin, shared his views with the audience and also read from the released book, one of the essays titled ‘Hoon Saade Kun Dene’.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Lalit Magotra, Convener, Dogri Advisory Board, Sahitya Akademi New Delhi, who presided over the function, lauded the book for highlighting the spirit of Dogriyat, which is based on the firm platform of honesty, hospitality, valor and harmony.
Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K Cultural Academy, the chief guest, in his address praised the writer for throwing light on factors responsible for the dilution of age old way of life.
The literary function conducted ably by well known Dogri/Hindi poet and general secretary Dogri Sanstha, Dr Nirmal Vinod, was attended by leading writers, poets, members of the broadcasting fraternity and members of the civil society.
