JAMMU, Aug 27: To meet the people, who are affected badly due to rain and flood, Raman Bhalla, working president JKPCC, today conducted a tour of different areas of Jammu and RS Pura.
The cong leader during his visit took stock of the problems faced by them.
Bhalla visited Bhour camp, Bhour pind, Rohi More Lower Gadigarh, Chatha Gorkha Nagar, Har Ki Pouri, Malik Market Bagh-e- Bahu, Bali Charana and several other areas.
Speaking on the occasion, the cong leader demanded immediate ex gratia interim relief, till proper assessment of the individual damage, especially to those who have lost entire household and livings.
“The government should immediately provide free ration to those who are worst affected and their household items destroyed due to flow of water in their houses,” he said.
Bhalla demanded immediate assessment teams of multiple departments to prepare reports of individuals damages, for timely release of package to the affected population and stressed for release of interim pre assessment relief to worst affected.
He said that a large number of houses and living units have been either fully or partially damaged and others unfit for living for longer periods due to damages, filling of mud and filth in large quantity.
“The government should come forward in big way to help the people to bring their life on the rail for starting their day today lives .There is need to arrange temporary shelters to several families in their nearby localities in order to restore their living units worth living, wherever possible which have not suffered huge damage,” he asserted.
