Jammu, Nov. 14: Working President Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee and Former Minister Raman Bhalla met the Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan here today and highlighted various important issues of different sections of people.
Bhalla submitted a detailed memorandum to the Lt. Governor highlighting the issues and the problems of the people and sought immediate response of the Government in this regard. He highlighted the issues of relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction of public infrastructure besides relief and rehabilitation of the affected people which has been delayed due to lack of adequate funds from the centre.
He also highlighted the problems faced by the farmers on various counts due to lack of relief and rehabilitation and demanded subsidized seeds, fertilizers and waver of KCC loans. He also highlighted the need to give boost to tourism potential of Jammu region.
He also expressed grave concern over the rising crime in Jammu and the increasing drug menace in the region and sought immediate effective measures . He also highlighted the long pending demands of the daily wagers, need based , casual workers and all categories of temporary employees and pensioners besides the unemployed youths.
Meanwhile, Mithun Manhas, President, The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) called on Lieutenant Governor.
A delegation of All J&K Christian Sabha led by its President Ashu Peter Mattoo also called on Lieutenant Governor.
Subsequently, Diksha Kaluria and Riya Kaluria, Trustees of General Zorawar Singh Memorial Education and Charitable Trust; a delegation of Nirbhay Bharat Foundation headed by its Chairman, Tarun Uppal, and Prof. B.L Zutshi, President, Hindu Education Society also called on the Lieutenant.
