Bhalla lays foundation stone of Panchayat Ghar

JAMMU, Sept 28: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla today laid foundation stone of Panchayat Ghar at remote village Chatta in Sunjuwan, to be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 20 lakh.
Director Rural Development Department Shafiq Ahmed Raina, Assistant Commissioner Development besides other senior officers of PHE, PDD, R&B, Irrigation and Flood Control and RDD accompanied the Minister.
After laying foundation stone, Mr. Bhalla addressed a large gathering and said after inauguration of the complex, the Sarpanchs and Panchs of the village would be able to arrange conventions and interactive session and other important functions.
The Minister asked RDD to complete the project within stipulated time frame by using quality material.
Listing the measures taken by the Government in Chatta village, Mr. Bhalla said Government has earmarked Rs. 49.90 lakh under RAMSA for construction of Government High School building and Rs. 56 lakh for construction of Health Centre at Chatta village.
For improving the drinking water facilities in Chatta, Beermeni, Dhom Mohalla and Sandhi villages, the Minister said Government has released Rs. 3.5 crore for digging of deep drill tube well and laying of water supply pipes in the localities. He said the project is in progress and would be completed within prescribed time frame.
He said Government has earmarked Rs. 9 lakh for construction of way side 25 water tanks in there said areas with water post connections for convenience of the villagers.
Regarding construction of Chatta-Beermeni road, Mr. Bhalla said Government has earmarked Rs. 2.37 crore for construction of the road, adding that the project is in progress and would be completed within stipulated time frame.  He said Government was committed to provide all basic amenities to the people of Chatta village and its adjoining area like adequate drinking water supply, power, road connectivity, education, health, multipurpose community hall besides better lanes and drains.
At Qasim Nagar, the Minister inspected the site for construction of Government High School building, for which Government has earmarked Rs. 49.90 lakh under RAMSA. He asked the R&B engineers to immediately start the construction work of the building so that next session classes would be started in the new building. He urged upon the encroachers to vacate the encroached land of the school voluntarily, otherwise be ready to face action.
