Bhalla distributes food items in Bagh-e-Bahu area

JAMMU, Apr 11: In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, former Minister and senior Congress leader, Raman Bhalla today distributed food items among the needy families in Bagh-e-Bahu area.
Speaking on the occasion Bhalla demanded upgradation of health infrastructure in J&K besides intensifying the testing of suspects on war footing basis and ensuring every required facilities to doctors, nurses and other health workers fighting the deadly virus on frontline.
He demanded upgrading of Gandhi Nagar Hospital to a Level-3 hospital with all tertiary care facilities to handle COVID-19 cases effectively.
Bhalla said that there is an urgent need to ramp up production of Personal Protective Equipments (PPEs) to multiply the efforts to tackle the spread of Coronavirus.
He called for steps to win over the confidence of everyone by creating a fear-free atmosphere, while keeping aside political ideology, to ensure that people come up voluntarily for testing.
He also called for improving sanitation facilities and provision of free ration to the poor and the marginalised.
“All of us have to cooperate in an optimum manner and every person needs to take all necessary precautions and exercise individual and collective responsibility in the fight against the Coronavirus,” he said.
