Bhalla assures every support to state’s artists

JAMMU, Jan 23: Maintaining that State youth have great talent in extra-curricular activities, Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture, Raman Bhalla, assured that the Government will extend every support to budding artists so that their skills are exploited to the optimum.
This was stated by the Minister while addressing a large gathering at Police auditorium, as chief guest, after witnessing a Dogri Play ‘Abhigyan Shakuntalam’ adaptation in Dogri by Dr. Sudhir Mahajan here today. The play was directed by Ravinder Sharma.
The music of the play was composed by Brij Mohan and Surinder Manhas while Rohit Bains choreographed.
Bhalla said Government has taken various initiatives to promote cultural activities in the state, adding that there is a plan to construct new auditoriums at district and tensil level. He said Rs. 8 crore have been earmarked for construction of 500-capacity full air-conditioned auditorium at Gandhi Nagar.

The artists of the play were Mridul Raj Anand as Dushyant, Neha Bogal as Shakuntla, Sunnedhi Sharma as Ansuya/Janani-I, Poonam as Pryamvada/Janani-II, Vikram Khatri as Madhavya/Sadhu, Kanika Sharma as Gautami, Ajay Tamangh as Machwara, Kartik Sani as Sarthi/Mattli, Abhishek as Kotwal, Rajat Gupta as Sanik and Shavac Makin as Bharat/Sardhaman.
