JAMMU, Apr 4: Senior BJP leader and former Minister, Bali Bhagat here today reacted to the recent donation drive in J&K for the people of Iran and termed it as ‘selective activism and misplaced priorities.’
Bhagat said that helping the people in distress anywhere in the world is commendable and reflects India’s moral values and questioned the absence of such mobilization during Pahalgam attack.
He expressed that such large-scale Kashmir-based donation drives were not organized for the victims of terror and displacement within the region itself.
The BJP leader said that the prolonged suffering of Kashmiri Pandits remains one of the most painful chapters in the region’s history.
“Thousands of Kashmiri Pandits were looted, murdered and forced to flee their homes. Why there was no such solidarity drive in Kashmir for them?” he maintained.
Bhagat also demanded transparency in the ongoing donation drive, stating that the list of donors should be made public.
“People deserve to know who is contributing and how the funds are being utilized. Transparency is essential to maintain trust and credibility,” he asserted.
