RAJOURI, Feb 26: With a renewed focus on multidisciplinary studies, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) has established new departments and introduced several postgraduate and undergraduate programs to cater to evolving academic and professional demands.
The newly established departments include ; Department of Sanskrit, History, Political Science and International Relations, Sociology, Linguistics and Mechanical Engineering.
In addition, the university has introduced cutting-edge undergraduate engineering programs to equip students with the latest technological advancements and industry-relevant skills, including B Tech in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electronics and Computer Engineering and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
Recognizing the growing importance of advanced studies in engineering and technology, BGSBU has also launched M Tech programs, namely M Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, Power and Energy Systems, Electronics& Communication and Water Resource Engineering.
Speaking on this academic transformation, Vice Chancellor of the University Prof Jawaid Iqbal, stated: “BGSBU is committed to academic excellence and holistic development. Our focus is on creating a knowledge-driven ecosystem that empowers students and faculty to contribute meaningfully to society. With innovative programs, research initiatives, and a forward-thinking approach, we aim to place BGSBU among the leading institutions in the country.”
The Vice Chancellor further emphasized that the new programs have been introduced as per the demand of the local people and will provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to compete at the Union Territory (UT) and National level tests.
Prof M J Warsi, the new Dean of Academic Affairs at BGSBU, said: “These academic initiatives will enhance the career prospects of our students and contribute significantly to the socio-economic development of the region. The introduction of programs in humanities and social sciences has long been a demand of the local community, and we are pleased to address it.”
