SRINAGAR, May 2: The Excise Commissioner has said that the liquor shop of M/s Sandeep Chatoo is neither on National Highway nor on State Highway and the order of Supreme Court on closure of liquor shops is not applicable to it.
In a communication (No EC/Exc/Misc/F-090/11/514-15 dated 24-04-2017) to the Superintendent of Police East, Srinagar, the Excise Commissioner has said that the liquor shop is not on highway. However, earlier, the department had given a list of the shops including that of M/s Sandeep Chatoo is on National Highway and on the basis of which High Court had ordered its closure on April 20.
