JAMMU, Aug 3: A general body meeting of the Jammu and Kashmir Batwal Sabha was held at Shahzad Pur today.
The meeting was chaired by Ex- Corporator, Nb Subedar (Retd) Rashpal Bhardwaj and attended by a large number of Batwal community members hailing from different areas.
The meeting deliberated on various challenges and problems faced by the community members in different fields, and discussions were held to find solutions and ways to address these issues.
Speaking on the occasion, R.L Kaith emphasized the importance of spreading literacy in the community. He said, “Literacy is the only catalyst that can develop our people, take them from darkness to light, bring prosperity, and dignity.”
Advising the community members, Kaith stressed the importance of maintaining good relations with sister communities. Quoting the phrase “United we stand, Divided we fall,” he said, “We remain at a loss due to our mutual grievances. It is essential for us to foster harmony and unity with other communities to achieve collective progress.”
The meeting appointed Ex Corporator Naib Subedar Rashpal Bhardwaj as Incharge of Guru Gyagi Mandir Committee and passed a resolution that Guru Gyagi’s birthday celebrations will now be organised by the Guru Gyagi Mandir Committee instead of the Guru Gyagi Birth Celebration Committee.
“This change aims to streamline the commemoration process and ensure a more effective and coordinated celebration of Guru Gyagi’s birthday”, stated the JKBS members.
Prominent among the members who were present included- JKBS, president Racchpal Ram, Birender Kumar, Maj Ram Paul (Retd), Rattan Lal, Bishan Dass, Laju Ram, Poli Devi, Dhian Chand, Darshan Kumar, Rashpal Targotra and Ram Lal.
