“We asked them not to shift the stand but nobody has paid any heed. We were told that we will be given alternative. More than 2 years have passed, nothing has happened,” he said.
They demanded that a sumo service should be started from Batmaloo bus stand so that the affected traders continue doing their business.
“The High Court had directed the administration to start a sumo stand till they (traders) are rehabilitated, even the Chief Secretary had directed the implementation, but nothing has happened so far,” he said.
He added that: “If the sumo stands can operate from congested areas like Lal Chowk and TRC, why not from Batmaloo where there is a space 30 kanals.”
