KATHUA, June 8: Union Minister in PMO’s Office, Dr Jitendra Singh today announced various developmental projects for the people of the State.
Addressing a reception hosted in his favour by the Party at Ghagwal near here, he said that various Centrally sponsored schemes will be launched in this border State for the welfare of the people.
Dr Singh was given a grand reception by the Partymen on his arrival in the town. He urged the Partymen to prepare a comprehensive plan on SPOs and VDCs in erstwhile Doda and Kathua district so that the same is taken up with concerned Ministry for their regularization.
He urged the authorities to frame a comprehensive report on Gadyal bridge so that its construction can be taken in hand as it is a long pending demand of the people of the area. With construction of this bridge the people of several villages will be benefited and their distance of travel will be reduced. The issue was also brought in his notice on the occasion by a deputation of people from the area led by Harbans Singh a BJP leader.
He also announced KV for Doda and said that new KVs will be established in uncovered areas in the State. He announced that Basohli will be developed as heritage town while Kathua, Billawar and Bani will be developed as tourist resorts by activating the tourism development authorities in these areas to attract the tourists to these places.
For eradication of growing employment from the State an employment fair will be held at every district headquarters and in this regard he has talked with some Multi National Companies also.
The fair will be started from Kathua district and later other districts will be covered, he added. Dr Singh said that district unit of party will select the place of fair in the district.
Dr Jitendra Singh said that work of Kathua Thermal power plant will also be started soon to overcome the power problem faced by the people. In this connection the discussions were held by the district Unit of the Party with DC Kathua recently, he added.
Dr Singh asked Partymen who earlier were resorting to dharnas and demonstrations for the redressal of people’s problems to seek cooperation of administration in settling them now.
He said BJP worker should consider himself the part of Government and an added responsibility is on his shoulders now. He has the power to get the problems solved by seeking cooperation of administration.
He said though in PMO, he will be always at the beck and call of his people who are his real power. He said Kathua district played a remarkable role in his victory and he will work his best to come upto the expectations of the people of the State in general and his constituency in particular.
Dr Singh who reached Jammu on his two days maiden visit of the State after becoming Union MoS yesterday, visited Dayala Chak in Kathua district today. Yesterday he visited BJP Headquarters at Jammu and also participated in party functions at Udhampur.
The function was addressed by BJP organizing general secretary, Ashok Kaul, MLA Hiranangar, Durga Dass, senior BJP leader, Thakur Ranjit Singh and it was among others attended by Rajiv Jasrotia state general secretary, Harinder Gupta and Vijay Sharma, district president of the party.
Earlier, Dr Singh was also given a rousing reception at Jatwal by the people and partymen.
