JAMMU, July 16: BJP senior leader and JMC Councilor Ward No 41, Sanjay Kumar Baru and councilor Ward-40 Neelam Nargotra stressed on early construction of Durga Nagar bridge and walls broken at different places due to recently heavy flood at Durga Nagar, Wazir Lane and Kabir Nagar Nallah.
Senior BJP leaders conducted extensive tour of Durga Nagar and Wazir Lane along with Superintendent Engineer, UEED Vaneet Gupta, Executive Engineer, Shiv Kumar Gupta, AEE Rajesh Sharma, AEE PWD, Sajjad Khan to assess the extent of damage due to the heavy rains.
Sanjay Baru stressed on the early repair and reconstruction work to provide relief to the locals as well as the commuters. He also laid stress to submit DPR for concrete construction of Nallah from Akhnoor road to Kabir Nagar and double strengthening the weak points in the containing walls, which can otherwise again be damaged due to the incessant rains and subsequent flash floods.
