JAMMU, June 26: The people of Barnai and Patoli Brahmana have expressed a grave concern over the increasing power cuts and voltage fluctuation in the area.
The residents said that the increasing power cuts have made the life of people miserable in this scorching Summer heat.
The residents said that despite the repeated pleas to the authorities they failed to improve the power supply in the area and instead of eight hour power cut some times long duration curtailments are enforced during night putting the old, infirm and children to many hardships.
“We pass sleepless nights for days together due to power cut during night hours, said Mamta Kumari of Patoli Brahmana. She said despite installing electronic meters the PDD has failed to maintain round the clock power supply. Instead of routine eight hour power cut the curtailments are made for 10 to 12 hours some times in a day, she added.
In an appeal to Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh and Minister of Forests and Social Welfare, Bali Bhagat who is the local MLA the people of the area have sought their immediate intervention in the matter.
