JAMMU, Aug 25: Crime Branch Jammu has registered four separate FIRs against a doctor, a Bank Manager, a Government teacher, a woman fraudster, and others in connection with major frauds and job scams involving Rs 2.62 crores.

A Crime Branch official said one of the FIRs was lodged against Dr Liyaqat Ali, a Government dental surgeon, on the written complaint of one Des Raj of Ramgarh for allegedly duping him of Rs 21 lakh on the pretext of arranging an MBBS seat and a bank job for his son and nephew.
According to him, this was the third case registered against him for fraud.
He said another case was registered against Amit Dogra, a JK Grameen Bank Manager, on the written complaint of Chief of Audit, Inspection and Vigilance, Sanjeev Kumar, who alleged that the former misused his official position and misappropriated Rs 55 lakh in connivance with others during his posting in Rajouri and Simbal Morh by opening and disbursing the amount in various accounts for establishment/expansion of business units which were neither established nor existed.
In another case, the Crime Branch official said, a Government teacher, Jameel Anjum Mir of Ustad Mohalla was booked for duping one Sobia Malik of Ward number 1, Batote, District Ramban of Rs 59.10 lakh, including cash and gold, on the promise of providing a Government job as Professor/Lecturer in the Education Department.
According to him, the accused is already facing multiple cases and is currently lodged in jail.
A separate FIR was also registered against a woman fraudster from Ramgarh and her associate Daleep Singh of Gurha Brahmana, Bantalab, Jammu, for cheating nine victims of Rs 1.27 crores on the pretext of providing Government jobs, he said.
The Crime Branch official said that this was the second case registered against the accused in Crime Branch for job scam.
According to SSP Crime Jammu, Benam Tosh, four FIRs-numbered 51, 52, 53, and 54 of 2025-have been registered at Police Station Crime Branch (EOW) Jammu, and investigations into all the cases are in progress.
