BANI, June 4: Concerned over the poor condition of basic infrastructure at Kasturba Gandhi School in Bani, a group of local representatives submitted a formal resolution to the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Bani, demanding immediate action.
The resolution, signed unanimously by several residents of the area, called for an urgent enquiry into the lack of essential facilities at the school.
The issues highlighted in the resolution include the absence of clean drinking water, non-functional toilets and sanitation units, inadequate classroom infrastructure, and dysfunctional boarding facilities.
The signatories pointed out that these problems have persisted for the last four years, causing immense hardships to students and staff.
They noted that the school was established under the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya scheme to serve underprivileged girls, especially from rural and backward communities. However, the poor condition of the infrastructure is seen as a betrayal of the scheme’s original objective.
The resolution urged authorities to take the matter seriously and ensure that basic amenities are restored immediately so that the education and well-being of students are not compromised.
The signatories of the resolution included Jeswant Singh, Naib-Sarpanch, Ashok Kumar, Payar Singh, Subash Chander, Chunni Lal, Kuldeep Singh, Des Raj, Lekh Raj Sundram and others.
