KARIM NAGAR, July 5 : Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Saturday called upon Hindus across the country to unite and emerge as a collective force to safeguard their interests and identity.
His remarks came during his participation in the Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra held at Tower Circle, Karimnagar.
Addressing the large gathering of devotees, Bandi Sanjay said that there has been a noticeable shift in the mindset of Hindus following the Pahalgam incident, where people were allegedly targeted based on their religious identity.
“That painful event made the Hindu community realise the need for unity. Only when we stand together can we ensure our protection,” he said.
He stressed that Hindus should not hesitate to become a consolidated vote bank and said, “No matter the difficulties we face, we must remain united as a community. Our strength lies in our collective consciousness.”
Earlier in the evening, the Minister offered prayers to Lord Jagannath and extended his blessings to the organisers. He was accompanied by former Mayor Sunil Rao, former Deputy Mayor Guggilla Ramesh, and former Nizamabad District President Basava Lakshminarayana, among others.
Praising the devotional atmosphere, Sanjay said, “The Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra is being celebrated with great enthusiasm in Karimnagar, with thousands of devotees participating. This is the fourth Yatra here, and it has now become a tradition in many districts.”
He announced plans to construct a Jagannath Temple in Karimnagar, assuring full support from his side for the initiative. “The spirit of devotion is high with bhajans and kirtans resonating through the streets. People of all ages and backgrounds are joining this divine celebration,” he added.
Referring to Operation Sindoor, Bandi Sanjay credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for instilling a sense of unity among Hindus nationwide. “The crowd gathered here today for the Rath Yatra is living proof that Hindus are becoming more aware, more united, and more determined to protect their culture and faith.”
He expressed hope that the blessings of Lord Jagannath would continue to guide and protect the Hindu community, reinforcing the message of unity and faith.
