Balwinder Singh Jammu’s Children Poetry Book released

JAMMU, Nov 13: During a function here today, Punjabi poetry book ‘Bal Tarang’ written by Balwinder Singh Jammu was released by Punjabi Lekhak Sabha (PLS) Jammu.
Harvinder Kour, Secretary J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) was chief guest on this occasion whereas Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, former Additional Secretary JKAACL presided over the function.
Dr. Baljeet Singh Raina, president, PLS-J, Popinder Singh Paras, Editor Sheeraza Punjabi and Balwinder Singh Jammu were present in the presidium.
Dr. Baljeet Singh Raina delivered welcome address while a paper on the content and critical evaluation of the released book ‘Bal Tarang’ was presented by Dr. Balwinder Kour.
Dr. Arvinder Singh in his presidential address appreciated Balwinder Singh Jammu for his commitment and truthfulness in his expressions in the poems included in the book.
Speaking on the occasion, Harvinder Kour appreciated the contribution of Balwinder Singh Jammu for creating children literature which is lacking in the languages of the region.
Popinder Singh Paras in his address appreciated the distinctive contribution of Balwinder Singh Jammu in Punjabi children literature, which is need of the hour.
Earlier writers Harbhajan Singh Upasak, Dr. Nasib Singh Chib, Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik, Dr. Jitender Udampuri, Dr. Monojit and Harjit Singh Uppal also expressed their views on the released book.
Proceedings of the programme were conducted by poet Suraj Singh Suraj. The programme ended with vote of thanks by Jang S. Verman, press secretary, PLS-J.
