Bali takes stock of emergency services in border areas

Jammu, Nov 3: Minister for Health and Medical Education Bali Bhagat today chaired a meeting to take stock of emergency services being provided by the Health Department in the border areas.
Director Health Services Jammu, Dr. Gurjeet Singh, MD Medical Supply Corporation, Dr. Yashpal Sharma, Director NHM, Dr. Mohan Singh, Deputy Director Health Services, Ajay Gupta, CMOs of Poonch, Rajouri, Kathua, Samba and Jammu, Medical and Deputy Medical Superintendent Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar besides senior concerned functionaries also attended the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, the Minister directed the concerned CMOs to take adequate steps to improve emergency services and provide proper healthcare to the injured persons.
It was  informed in the meeting  that 314 villages have been affected in border firing from Kathua to Poonch and to provide immediate medicare and relief to the injured  adequate number of ambulances have  been pressed into service.
It  was further informed that 24X7 health- care services are being ensured by the District, Sub-District Hospitals as well as CHCs besides provision of medicines and other facilities in migrant camps.
The Minister instructed the concerned authorities for providing relief to those who have been evacuated/migrated  from border areas. He directed the concerned CMOs and Medical Superintendents to maintain adequate stock of  medicines to meet the  requirement.
He also stressed for improving the monitoring mechanism to ensure transparency and accountability at different levels to achieve tangible results on ground. Later, the Minister inspected the under construction work on 200 bedded hospital at Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar. He directed the executing agency to speed up the work and ensure that remaining work is completed in stipulated time frame.
