JAMMU, Apr 9: Senior BJP leader, Bali Bhagat claimed that PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti is acting like a spokesperson of Pakistan.
Flaying her recent remarks regarding Pakistan in the context of Iran ceasefire, Bhagat said: “By praising Pakistan in context of Iran ceasefire, Mehbooba has misled the public.”
He further claimed that this is not an isolated case as in the past also Mehbooba has repeatedly advocated engagements with Pakistan.
“Time and again, she highlights Pakistan in a manner that gives undue importance to that country,” the BJP leader said adding: “Such remarks are irresponsible and politically motivated and Mufti should exercise restraint while speaking on sensitive geopolitical developments.”
He asserted that invoking Pakistan for Iran ceasefire may lead to diplomatic misinterpretation and could be exploited at global platforms.
Bhagat urged Mehbooba to refrain from making statements that reflect Pakistan’s viewpoint and instead focus on constructive political engagement for the welfare and development of the people of J&K.
