JAMMU, June 19: Balbir Ram Rattan, the national secretary of Shri Guru Ravidass Vishwa Mahapeeth, attended the one-day National Executive Meeting (NEM) of Mahapeeth held at New Delhi.
The meeting was chaired by Suresh Kumar Rathore, Mahapeeth’s national president and former Minister and attended by large number of national office bearers and State presidents, from various States and Union Territories of the country.
Vijay Kumar Sampla, international vice president of the Mahapeeth, the former Chairman, National Commission for SCs and the former Union Minister, graced the meeting as special invitee.
The meeting commenced with the lighting of lamp and offering flowers at the portrait of Guru Ravidass and welcome address by Suraj Bhan Kataria, national organizational chief, general secretary of the Mahapeeth.
Suresh Kumar Rathore, in the meeting, sought details of the activities of the Mahapeeth which have been undertaken during the last three months across the country and also discussed the future programmes to reach more areas and more population with the teachings and message of great saint Sant Shiromani Shri Guru Ravidassji and said that they are the most fortunate persons who have got the opportunity to work for the noble cause of spreading the message of social equality and universal brotherhood.
Balbir Ram Rattan briefed the meeting about his ongoing task of reaching different sections of the society and sharing the life and teachings of Guru Ravidass in Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting also unanimously adopted three resolutions demanding reconstruction of ancient temple of Guru Ravidass at Tuglaqabad, Delhi, installation of the statue of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar in front of the new building of Parliament, honour the new Union Ministers of Ravidassia community and authorizing the national president to reconstitute and give wider representation to the national body and the state units of the Mahapeeth.
Prominent among those who put forth their views in the meeting included Raj Kumari, Surjeet Kumar, Vijay Singh Premi, Ashok Kumar, Hitender Choudhary, Om Prakash Meghwal and others.
