JAMMU, Dec 9: The Sangharsh Samiti today received full support from the Jammu Kashmir High Court Bar Association Jammu (BAJ) for its ongoing campaign against the Shrine Board’s recent decision.
The Samiti team, led by Convenor Col Sukhvir Singh Mankotia and Parshotam Dadhichi, first paid obeisance at the ancient Shiv Mandir in the High Court complex, recently renovated by members of the Bar.
After offering prayers, the delegation met Bar Association President Advocate Nirmal Kotwal and his team to seek their support.
Kotwal said the Shrine Board has become “completely commercialized,” making services unaffordable for common people.
He stressed that locals must have a role in the Shrine Board’s functioning.
“Vaishno Devi is a matter of faith, not a picnic spot,” he said, adding that the Bar Association stands firmly with the Samiti both morally and legally.
Col Mankotia said the visit to the Shiv Mandir had given new strength to their movement.
He said the Bar’s support had boosted their resolve to continue the fight until the Shrine Board’s decision is reversed.
Dadhichi also described the Bar’s backing as a symbol of solidarity for Dharma and justice.
Bar Association Vice President Advocate Baldev Singh, General Secretary Advocate Pardeep Majotra, Joint Secretary Advocate Anshu Mahajan, Treasurer Advocate Rahul Aggarwal, Advocate Om Prakash Gupta, Akshay and others were present.
