Bail denied to woman in militancy case

JAMMU, July 7: 3rd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Madan Lal has rejected the bail application of one Shabnam Akhter, who was allegedly involved in militancy activities and attempts to revive militancy in Reasi.
After hearing APP Manmohit Sharma for the UT, the court observed, “as per the evidence the allegations of offences under Sections 13, 38 & 40 of UA (P) Act to which the bar of Section 43 (D) (5) UA (P) Act is applicable, appear to be true at this stage”.
“Considering the statements of recorded witnesses and yet to be recorded and the rigor of Section 43-D(5) of UA (P) Act, the application of the applicant is pre-mature and without merits. The applicant has failed to make out a case for grant of bail, at this stage, so the application cannot be allowed and bail cannot be granted”, read the order.
