POONCH, Sept 3: Principal District and Sessions Judge Poonch Tahir Khurshid Raina has rejected the bail application of a teacher, who is accused of committing rape with his student in the school.
The accused Rehbar-e-Taleem teacher namely Mohd Farooq, who was having the charge of Mid Day Meal, called the victim—a student of 8th Class, for washing utensils after the school timing. When the girl entered the kitchen, the teacher bolted the door irrespective of resistance of the victim and committed rape with her. Thereafter, the accused threatened the victim of dire consequences in case she dared to disclose the incident to anybody.
The heinous crime came to the fore when the girl became pregnant. Accordingly, a case was registered and the teacher was arrested.
After going through the reply from the Public Prosecutor and the case diary, Principal Sessions Judge observed, “the statement of the prosecutrix has been recorded before the Judicial Magistrate and she has accused the teacher of committing heinous crime with her”, adding “other evidences collected in the ongoing investigation also corroborate the factum of commission of offence”.
With these observations, court rejected the bail application of the accused. “It is very painful to note that a minor girl who happened to be a student of middle standard has levelled allegations of heinous offence of rape against her teacher”, adding “I am of the opinion that teaching is the profession of the saints and seers and it’s beyond imagination that a teacher can go to such an obnoxious extent with his student in the school”.
“Our society will turn into a society of beasts if such occurrences continue to take place in our schools where teachers are suppose to shape the future of their students and the society”, Principal District and Sessions Judge said.
