JAMMU, Dec 18: Sub-Judge Jammu Kusoom Pandita today rejected the bail application of Manzoor Ahmed Wani, son of Mohd Saabir Wani of Kupwara, who had duped several persons on the pretext of managing Government jobs.
After hearing Senior PO Puja Nijohn with Inspector Parvez Sajjad for the State, the court observed, “offences allegedly committed by the accused are serious in nature and by committing such offenses accused has shattered the faith of the complainant and other people who allegedly paid the amount to the accused”.
“By duping the complainant and other people with huge amount of Rs 60 lakh the accused has thrown the future of the children of the complainant and other people in dark”, the court said, adding “since the accused has committed very serious offences which carry punishment for imprisonment of life as well and since the investigation is also in progress, accused cannot be given bail”.
With these observations, court rejected the bail application.
