JAMMU, Sept 23: A deputation of Joint Action Committee for Development of Bahu Fort met Divisional Commissioner Jammu and Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Jammu (JMC).
The deputation demanded reconstruction of infrastructure at Bahu Fort Cremation Ground especially the cremation shed and retention wall.
Other demands included renovation of rooms and bathrooms at the cremation ground, shifting of Tehsil HQ to Bahu Fort, healthcare facilities in the area, solution to the problem of water scarcity, construction of playground, sanctioning of firewood depot in the area, construction of path from cremation ground to Shiv Mandir and strictly dealing with the menace of drugs addiction.
The Divisional Commissioner assured to get the temporary shed constructed at the cremation ground for time being till the funds are released.
The deputation included Sham Lal Basson, former JMC Councillor; Karuna Chhetri, president Gorkha Sabha; Baldev Raj Nargotra, Kulvir Singh, D.D Mehra, Bishan Dass, Manohar Lal, Joginder Kumar, Suresh Kumar and Ramesh Chander.
