The protests with the dead body squatted on the Highway demanding justice. They only dispersed after police gave an assurance to them that the guilty ill eb punished under law.
The incident occurred on October 5th, when a function was held at the home of Mangal Singh, a resident of Badhoi village, and an argument broke out with the labourers from the tent house. Mangal Singh was seriously injured and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, and then transferred to AIIMS Vijaypur for further treatment. Mangal Singh died on Friday while undergoing treatment at AIIMS.
Family members, who were returning home with the body, staged a strong protest by placing the body on the highway. They alleged that the police have not taken any action and have not arrested anyone. The family alleged that four youth, who had come from a tent house, entered the house under the pretext of sleeping. They alleged that these four persons had entered with the intention of theft. When Mangal Singh tried to stop them, they attacked him with an iron rod and seriously injured him.
The attackers then fled with a sack full of money from the house, they added.
During the protest, a long jam took place on both sides of the Highway, and there were long queues of vehicles on the Highway. SDPO Pradeep Sen and the SHO Badi Brahmna reached the spot and informed that two people have been arrested in this case and the remaining two will also be caught soon. The police assured the family members that other accused will also be arrested within the next one week. The jam that had occurred after the protest was cleared after several hours of hard work.
