JAMMU, Apr 5: Anganwari Workers Welfare Association (AWWA) has reiterated its old pending demands and urged for its early implementation Anganwari.
Addressing a press conference, Swarna Choudhary, president, Anganwari Workers Welfare Association today highlighted the demands which included increase of monthly salary for the Anganwari workers at Rs 15000 and helper at Rs 10000, skilled workers as per law keeping in view the circumstances and very high prices of all commodities, and added that present honorarium is very less. She demanded enhancement and said that in other states workers are getting more salaries.
The Association has opposed the extended 6 hours duty as the officials are harassing and threatening the workers, Association added further that they should have four hours duty as per norms lay down in ICDS scheme and also demanded 100% promotions for Anganwari workers on the post of supervisors, constitution of tripartite grievances committee at State and district levels to solve the problems properly with positive attitude and for smooth functioning and for betterment of administration as laid down in ICDS scheme.
If their demands will not be accepted at the earliest, the association will start agitation in the support of their demands, the workers said in one voice, adding that the responsibility shall be held on Government.
